Paola Murillo
Union Institute & University
Paola Murillo is a bilingual graduate student currently working in higher education. She currently services students at Union Institute and University. specifically their Sacramento center. She handles aspects within admissions, advising and counseling, and outside recruitment on behalf of the University. Ms. Murillo is also certified by the VA, overseeing Veteran student’s educational benefits. She has been in higher education for almost 3 years, and was previously within the Child Development field as a head teacher for over 5 years.
Ms. Murillo is also an active artist in the Sacramento Community, speaking on topics surrounding culture, social change and mental health. She has recited in venues such as Harlow’s, Ace of Spades, Holy Diver, Hippy Tea and Coffee, as well as smaller venues under the organization called So Far Sounds. She has been featured as a writer in the following prestigious websites: ButtonPoetry.com, LatinX.com, and ThoughtCatologue.com.
Her love of art and mental health awareness has inspired her to seek her Masters in Health and Wellness. Her current thesis is concentrated on the use of art therapy. She will be graduating with her degree this July of 2021.
